About Beige Box
Hi, I'm Kevin. I fix computers for my neighbors.
By day I work in IT security, keeping networks and people safe for local organizations. Evenings and weekends, I help people at home with the same care: slow computers, scam pop-ups, Wi-Fi that drops out, and the new phone that came with no instructions.
I started Beige Box because I kept hearing the same story. Someone gets a scary pop-up or a call from “Microsoft,” pays a stranger, and ends up worse off. Good tech help should be honest, local, and explained in plain English.
What you can expect
- A real person. You’ll talk to me, not a call center, and I’m the one who shows up.
- Flat prices up front. You’ll know the cost before I start.
- No pressure. If something isn’t worth fixing, I’ll say so.
- Your privacy respected. I don’t keep your files or your passwords.
- Homes and families only. No business contracts, no subscriptions.
Why “Beige Box”?
For years, nearly every computer came in the same beige case. They weren’t fancy, but they were dependable, and you could open them up and fix them. That’s the idea here: dependable help, no mystery.
I live and work in the Hudson Valley. If I can’t help with something, I’ll tell you who can.
